Safety Can Be Comfortable Too

Information iconAbout This Campaign

Too often, workers ditch their safety gear because it’s uncomfortable. Let’s push for updated, ergonomic safety gloves, helmets, and goggles that people actually want to wear.

In a field project based, using safety gears are very important, because it can safe workers from unconditional accident. So, the standard operational procedure should be implemented strictly

Safety must also contain an element of comfort, apart from comfort it must also be able to keep workers feeling safe in their work, we have also heard that there is another saying, likely “Safety can be fun”

Yes, comfort matters! If the gear isn’t comfortable, people won’t wear it—and that defeats the whole purpose of safety equipment. Totally support the idea of making safety gear that’s actually wearable and worker-friendly!

You’re absolutely right. I often see workers removing their PPE and comfort is likely a major factor: - PPE feels hot, especially when working under the sun. - Gloves make hands sweaty or reduce precision when handling tools. - Helmets feel itchy or heavy. - Safety goggles fog up or obstruct vision. So, this is definitely a valuable program to consider, one that focuses on making PPE comfortable enough that workers actually wanna wear it. Partner with vendors or manufacturers to test new, more comfortable designs of gloves, helmets and safety goggles.

I have personally avoided using gear before because it felt like a punishment 😅 If safety stuff was actually comfy, people would use it way more such as myself. It should protect us, not make work harder

If safety gear is so uncomfortable that workers avoid using it, then it’s not really doing its job. Comfort and safety should go hand in hand, especially when we have the materials and design knowledge to make it happen. Let’s stop forcing people to choose between staying safe and staying sane on the job

Exactly! When safety gear is comfortable, it's no longer a point of resistance. This not only improves adherence but also allows workers to focus better on their tasks, ultimately leading to increased productivity alongside enhanced safety.
